Ebay or Craigslist

On Ebay you at least have a binding contract so that they can't just rip you off as badly if you buy a lemon. They also have the bstr prices since it is bidding.

Craigslist is another but keep in mind they are usually asking much more than it is normally worth and they can also "forget to mention" things with out having any consequences.

Just stick with ebay
References :
bought 7 bikes on ebay in the last 2 years

WE call them liquor sickles. Once you get a DUI you don't need a drivers license for one so that's what they get to go to work and back.
References :
Hondas. Lol. JK. When I hear the word moped the only one that comes to mind is Vespa. With their low level of performance and obvious simplicity I wouldn't think they were very expensive at all.
References :
The others have it right, but the Prius battery isn't designed for what you want and is very expensive. The Optima blue tops are good, but also pricey.
References :
You mean one of these:
http://www.motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/mobylette_type50.jpg

There seems to be a lot of confusion between "moped" and "scooter".

The English name for the type of vehicle you describe is "MOPED". Originally this meant "MOtorized-PEDals".
Nowadays, a moped is any vehicle of less than 50cc with speed limited to 40kmh-25mph. Some countries require pedals others don't and some require automatic transmissions while others don't.

Small wheeled vehicles with (usually) enclosed bodywork are called "SCOOTERS". Scooters can also be mopeds, but not every scooter is a moped and not every moped is a scooter. A Mobylette is a moped, but it's not a scooter and a Suzuki Burgman is a scooter, but it's not a moped.
