Im about 5 feet tall and im thinking about purchasing Honda Goldwing but im afraid i will not be tall enough to touch the ground on corners as ive heard you need to be tall to touch the ground when stopped. So i was looking into the trike converted versions on ebay and i was wondering if i can still take corners at 30mph or will it be tippier? Will it be easier to reverse or will it hurt the transmission of the bike having it triked with a trike kit professionally? Thanks
Trikes are cool and all, but the handle pretty poorly. when you turn it’s going to try to lean like a bike normally would, but because of the two wheels in the back it won’t be able too. I’ve always heard (and seen) that trikes and old three wheeled atv’s tip over really easily.
The best way for you to find out if you’re too short is to go in and sit on one at the dealer. With that bike as heavy as it is, you going to want to be able to put your feet flat when your stopped.

To me motorcycles are about slithering around tight corners and accelerating like a rocket. To add every kind of ball and chain to the thing, a big windshield, tons of luggage a lazy-boy, a stereo, heavy chrome doodads….that’s just sacrilege. Why bother having a motorcycle? You can get all that comfort and be in the wind if you get a nice sports car.
Trike motorcycles are the silliest piece of junk on the planet. They are super expensive, have no performance, and no handling. Same with pulling a trailer. Why would anyone bother?

Street bike trikes steer like a log wagon unless the front fork is changed. When converted, they usually use a trailing link style.

I actually rode an 07′ goldwing conversion last weekend.The machine was incredibly stable,and i NEVER felt like it would tip-over.i however have been riding/racing for 20+years on and off road.When i asked the owner the same question he said " I like it better than 2-wheel Goldwing."And expressed concerns about gas mileage issues.He also added.."you drive them…not ride them" also…no trans. issues.Hope that helps.He also has alot of miles in the saddle.

i have a side car rig. as far as driving it. it’s a totally different frame of mind that you need to be in. as a fan of feeling free and agile two wheels is better to me.
as far as whether it actually steers worse [quality issue] it steers the same, you just need to react differently. if you get on and try to ride a 3 wheeler like a 2 wheeler you will put yourself in an unsafe predicament.
the steering quality is the same. i’m not sure about the trike conversions but i am sure there are quality rigs out there. just don’t get on it thinking you can race around corners, stop, and accelerate like it’s a two wheeler.

I’ve seen a trike on the twistiest road in Virginia. They’ll corner.

The converts handle very well, and have a lot better performance. The are more stable also! (I am comparing these to factory built Harley Servi-Cars and Cushman Trucksters not two wheelers)
